No Celery Please proudly presents…
The first annual awarding…
Of the prestigious bloggy honor of…
The coveted…

And who are the lucky winners of this award?
Why… all you deserving folks on my blogroll, of course.
(OK – I am lazy, so I am only doing the people that might actually come here and see this, not the places where I only lurk.)
So congratulations everyone! All your blogs have something great about them that makes them deserve the award that goes like this.
(Pass it along iffn you feel like it).
I gots me an award from Monsieur Ron, of the Warped Mind.
It involves bacon, which I love! And, apparently, boobs, which I can certainly appreciate on an aesthetic level. And, finally, blogs, which I also love.
(But really, mostly bacon!!!!)
There are no “pass along” rules to this award. (And frankly, why would I pass along bacon, anyway… I am keeping all of the bacon for me).
But I have been inspired to create my own award.
Which, as soon as I get a little time, I am going to do. And post it. With awards for everyone!
So Saturday I went and got my hair cut.
I really like the new do… although I haven’t yet managed to get it to look quite like it did the day the stylist styled it.
It’s not as short as I was thinking of going… but all those really short pictures apparently would have involved something called “Flat-ironing” and since I can’t even be bothered to iron my clothes, let alone my hair… I just told her to make it short and not too much work. The back is really short. Cut in a wedge. The longer hair starts at the crown.
Anyway… here’s a (slightly blurry) pic of my hair when I got back from the salon.
And here’s the next day. First attempt at doing it myself. Looking at the picture now… I think I need to make it come forward more. It’s still a bit damp in this picture – it was fluffier later in the day.
I do like that it can take a LOT of wind and abuse and still looks pretty much the same. And… it looks WAY better than the “back in a clip” look I had before. I had better luck with doing it this morning than yesterday… so I am thinking I’ll get the hang of it eventually.
Now I come to a conundrum. I like this hairstyle. But I am not sure that I am emotionally equipped to pay the stylist $70 every 4 to 6 weeks to keep this up. It was pretty painful just the one time. Of course, I already feel guilty for contemplating seeing if the Great Clips stylists can maintain this cut at $15 a pop rather than $70… I mean, I would think they ought to be able to, now that I’ve got a style. And… I really went to the stylist to let someone who was good with hair do something new to mine.
I guess I have 4 to 6 weeks to think about it.
God help me.
I called the Bang Bang Salon (www.bangbangsalon.com) and made an appointment for 10 am on Saturday.
They look tres trendy and, I think, will be able to help me a little more than the very kind, but somewhat lackluster ladies at the Great Clips have done.
So Saturday I will take my list of pictures I like and I will go in and I will tell them.
1) I am bad at “doing” my hair. I need something that I can shake my hands through and go.
2) I want short hair
3) It needs to be able to take a ride in a convertible with very minimal repair work needed.
4) I already dress like a boy and don’t wear make-up, so I’d like it to not be so short that an average person will look at me and go “Lesbian”. Not that I really care if people think that… it’s more of a “Truth in advertising” thing for me. I don’t want to create any unnecessary confusion.
5) Please do not do anything to my head that makes me look worse than my boring old hair clip.
6) Also – Roller derby involves sweat and helmets… so something that can come out from under a helmet and kinda be revived with a good shaking would be nice.
We shall see what comes of this madness.
