I read a fair number of “activist” blogs through a compiled feed.
Things have been getting very deep and serious in my blog-world this week, so I thought I would just say…
I like cake.
Sometimes, it’s the simple things that are most important. Cake may not be able to save the world or stop the oppression of millions… but it’s something we all can sit back and enjoy briefly while we let the troubles and cares of trying to fix everything that’s wrong with the planet slide on by.
Yay Cake!

I too like cake. It embodies so much that man has long desired to aquire. It’s best when warm and moist and its dark rich flavor makes you want to just keep eating it for much longer than is healthy. Cake, it truly can be something to bring the world together or tear it apart completely.

I like carrot cake. Chocolate cake. German chocolate cake. Angel’s food cake. Cheesecake. Molten lava cake. Cake ala mode. CAKE! Cake with candles. Cake with filling. Cake with sprinkles and ice cream and strawberries on top.
Dammit I want some cake.

A wise man once said “If everybody fried there food, there would be no war.”
Just something to think about. Kinda along the same lines as your post. Cake good. Fried food good. It’s all good.

[...] need chocolate. I really do. Which reminds me of this comment I left on noceleryplease’s blog today, about cake. It amused me to write it, and it amuses me to repost it [...]

It would be unpatriotic to not like cake! Although some people like cake without frosting, I don’t get that. Or heaven forbid, whipped cream frosting! That’s not frosting. Give me sugar and lard and all that good stuff, and pile it high on my cake. And layer it in between as well. Now I’m hungry.

Thanks to my daughter, I am now a fan of chocolate caramel cake. With butter cream frosting and peanut butter cup ice cream. Mmmm!

Fried cake? I’m sure we could find some at the Texas State Fair.
Muffins are for people who don’t have the ‘nads to order cake for breakfast!

Carrot cake. Definitely carrot cake, with that cream cheese frosting & the little icing-made-carrots on top.
YUM.
