The forecast for Saturday (Sunny and 83) is DEMANDING that I go for a hike that day.
DEMANDING!!!

DEMANDING!!!
Ok. Christmas is over. Whew!
It was nice. I had a good time with the family. Now that there’s fewer really young kids, Christmas is much more quiet and relaxing than it used to be.
But it’s always a relief to have it over. The shopping is done. The eating is done.
Now… time to get back to normal.
Wait… did I say NORMAL? Because it SNOWED here over night… in DECEMBER! And it’s STILL SNOWING! Sheesh.
Still, not so bad that we won’t be able to get out in the afternoon hours. The roads will be slushy, but I do not think this will get bad until tonight when the clouds move out and the temps drop down to “sheet of ice”.
Guess I’ll be working from home tomorrow, at least for half the day until things melt off.
Now I just need to get up the gumption to unwind myself from the blankets and get my butt off this couch and go work out. Yesterday’s pie festival isn’t going to go away on it’s own!
1) It is one day closer to the last day of summer
2) Nothing else.
Of course, I am not really too crazy about summer either. I am one picky, picky bitch when it comes to the weather.
I’d be pretty darn happy if I could find some place that was pretty much 78 – 80 all year, with a couple of days of 60′s in the “winter” and a couple of days high 80′s in the “summer” – yeah.. that’s for me.
Probably I should live on a climate controlled Moon Base or something, but no one has yet obliged me by building condos on the moon… so.
As it turns out, I did NOT go shopping Friday night. I did drive by the Mart, but even the lane turning in was crazy, so we pretty much just made do Friday and Saturday night. Last night I had a bowl full of cauliflower and cheese for dinner.
Handily, things are melting away now, and I have a B Dazzlers Captains meeting at 5:30 at Wild Wing Cafe… so dinner tonight should be a darn site tastier than a bowl of cauliflower with melted cheese and some fakon bits.
Already checked out the Menu online – they have a good looking grilled chicken salad, but I might end up with a baked potato and house salad instead… I have kinda been craving baked potato for a while, and it might just be time to go ahead and have one.
Maybe not, though, as there was no practice this morning due to the snow, so there’s certainly not been a potato’s worth of exercise done today. Winter – Bah!
So, there is supposed to be some winter weather tonight.
There is nothing I hate more than winter weather moving in on the night that I ALWAYS do my grocery shopping.
It’s going to be a mad house. But… I have to go – we go week to week on groceries – shopping has to happen every Friday to keep us in food.
I kinda feel like I ought to be able to go to the store and shout “HEY! THIS IS MY REGULAR SHOPPING! I AM NOT A PANICKY BREAD AND MILK BUYER! GET OUT OF MY WAY!”
But I will not do that.
I will go.
I will shop.
I will be annoyed, but, not the first time in my life that’s happened
So this morning, I could smell the roasting dust that is the hallmark of the first “heating” of the season.
This means my office has officially switched the HVAC from “Cool the Building” to “Heat the Building”
Funny, but it is exactly the same temperature in here today with the heat as it was yesterday with the cooling….. FREEZING DAMN MONKEY BALLS COLD!!!
I am going to have to bring in a ski parka this winter.
The rain is astounding outside my window right now. Must be monsoon season. Looking to see a giant boat full of animals floating by any minute now.
