No Celery Please – NYC Edition!

Priorities, People!

Posted in Uncategorized by noceleryplease on February 13, 2008

OK, so…..

There’s war in Iraq.  And Afghanistan.  And Pakistan. And probably other stans I am not aware of.

Kenyans are killing each other over tribal feuds.

Sudanese are killing each other over religion.

Oil prices are rising.  Food prices are rising because all our corn is being made into ethanol.

One in 7 Americans do not have health insurance.

Drug cartels in South America are now moving drugs into the country in submarines (way to go, so-called war on drugs).

Either Microsoft or Google wants to rule the Internet.

Thank GOD that Congress is dealing with this whole STEROIDS IN BASEBALL issue, though.  I don’t know where the world would be without these stalwart fighters for truth, justice, and the American way.

Baseball!!!

One congressperson grilling the baseball people said, “This isn’t what we’re supposed to be doing here!”

Then she launched into the grilling with gusto.

I can at least justify the steroids issue as I think it has an impact on the youth. Not just a moral example, but an actual health concern that needs to be addressed. But even as an avid sports fan, I am well aware that baseball & football are not top priorities. What ticks me off more than steroid use being investigated is that fact that another Senator wants to explore why the Patriots “spy gate” tapes were destroyed by the Commissioner and look deeper into the allegations of cheating. Ummm… with MY tax dollars?! I would say this is a league issue, not a federal one.

Amen to that. Bread and circuses.

Personally I think it’s crazy to expect people who have the potential to make millions if they use steroids to refrain from using them. With that much income at stake, people are going to try to get around the rules.

Thank you! WHY does no one in charge seem to realize that this is just a stupid way to spend time and money?

Oh, wait, it probaby makes their approval rating go up for “saving the kids” or something.

    Bah, I say. Bah.
